about me

By profession, I’d spent over 25 years in media finance working in senior positions in financial institutions and as Chief Financial Officer of two radio groups. Then, in 2008, my life collapsed with the loss of my precious Casey. One year later, my division at Wells Fargo Bank was axed, a victim of the financial meltdown and onset of the Great Recession.

Since then I’ve turned to writing, advocacy (for a suicide barrier on the Golden Gate Bridge) and working with teens, bringing awareness to mental health issues that increasingly affect kids as young as middle school.

John Brooks recently completed a memoir titled The Girl Behind The Door’ about his search for answers to Casey’s suicide, and he writes a blog about attachment disorders, www.parentingandattachment.com.
